Above: Alice’s Rose Garden, fiber painting by twin artists, Lisa and Lori Lubbesmeyer.
We just sent this piece off to Chicago. This was commissioned by a family for a woman who is celebrating her 90th Christmas. For the holiday, she’ll be surrounded by her children, nieces, nephews and grand kids. Her family wanted her to have a remembrance of her garden. This is a look at the piece through some of its many iterations while in process.
Alices’s rose garden is so stunning. It bursts life through colors. Wow! You two lovely sisters continue to amaze me. How can there be so much talent in two people? I can’t tell you how many times I talk about you because of your art. Usually people like your four seasons and then I ask them to look closer. When they realize that it is fiber art, they can’t believe it! Then they spend some time enjoying the subtleties and complexities of what you did. Thank you so much.
Is alices’s rose garden for sale? Is it fiber art like this four season?
How much does it cost?
Wishing you the everyday beauty that you gave to me through
the Four Seasons,
Rita
Thanks so much Rita, for all of your kind words and continued appreciation of our work. We’re so pleased to hear how much you enjoy the Four Seasons. We remember well how happy we felt when you asked us to create them, and feel it may be possible they’re still exuding that joy. It’s one of the wonderful gifts we receive in being able to create art, the enduring connection to those of you we may not have otherwise had the privilege to meet.
Alice’s Rose Garden was another piece that we were asked to create. In this case, family members wanted us to re-create a garden for the matriarch of their family. She as well as 3 generations of her offspring spent time with her in her garden. Alice is now in her later 90’s, and had to move away from the home where she grew the garden. Alice’s family wanted her to be able to still view the garden, so they asked us to recreate it in fiber, knowing she’d enjoy looking at the details of the fiber leaves and petals. Her family’s thoughtfulness was very moving. So, to answer your question Rita, we’re afraid Alice’s Garden isn’t available for purchase, but we hope you’ll continue to view our available work page to see what else we create.
Thanks again Rita! It’s always wonderful to talk with you.
